Order of Operations
Parentheses, Exponents/Roots (left to right), Multiplication/Division (left to right), Addition/Subtraction (left to right)
A SUM is....
the result of an addition
A PRODUCT is....
the result of a multiplication
Division <=> Multiplication
Any division can be expressed as a multiplication (and vice versa)
Subtraction <=> Addition
Any subtraction can be expressed as an addition (and vice versa)
Root <=> Power
Every root can be expressed as a power
Title
Dividing by 6 is the same as multiplying by 1/6
Title
Subtracting 6 is the same as adding negative 6
Title
Taking the square root of 9 is the same as raising 9 to the 1/2 power
Integers
All positive & negative WHOLE numbers and zero.
Rationals
Any number that can be expressed as a fraction.
Reals
Any number you could place on the number line (including unending decimals like Pi).
