Is proud of her daughters. She embarrasses herself in front of the Bingley's and doesn't even realize it.

She is very assiduous, persisting.

Funny guy. Comical. Most "chill" in my opinion and not as interested in gossip as the ladies.

Indolent at times. He told about Mr. Collin's arrival the day of when he knew about it for a month.

Also has pride, the title of the book does not only apply to Darcy.

She is also very outgoing. She walked by herself to Bingley's house, talked back to Darcy, etc.

Doesn't see the faults in people. She finds a reason for the way they act. For example, she justifies Darcy's rudeness by him being uncomfortable around strangers. Opposite of her sister, who is very prejudiced.

Jane is very considerate. Although she was sick, she didn't want people worrying about her.

Very different from Bingley. Very proud, rude to people.

Makes a conscious effort not to look at Elizabeth; probably to prevent falling in love with her. However, if he is trying so hard I think he already has fallen in love with her.

Bingley is VERY respectful to women.

Selfish, proud. Hypocritical at times. She said she disliked when women read and then later on said she wanted to own an extensive library when she was married.

The characters develop through dialogue rather than description. Jane Austen's writing isn't too difficult to understand. She gets right to the point.

However, the hardest part of the book is to keep track of all the characters.

Treats situations with a lot of amusement. When Elizabeth refuses Mr. Collins' proposal, she is still too young to understand the seriousness of the incident and therefore proceeds to make fun of it.

Very pragmatic. She seems to really care about social rank and fortune (shown through dialogue)

Mr. Bennet's cousin. Looking at the Bennet daughters for a future wife.

He seems to overdo everything, he over praises Lady Catherine (adulation)

I don't like Mr. Wickham; all his allegations against Darcy do not seem genuine. They seem to be based off of jealousy and Elizabeth shouldn't believe him.

Elizabeth not making such a big fuss out of Mr. Collins' intentions shows her sensibility and positive approach to life.
