Know What Matters

What projects are worth a lot of points? Is your class mostly test-based?

Manage Your Time

Revisit week one's strategies. Don't work yourself into a breakdown!

Talk to Your Teacher

Ask for help! Tell them if/why you're struggling. Ask them to explain grades if you don't understand why you got something wrong or how to make it better.

Title

Be aware that some classes weight homework heavily because there's so much of it. A lot of small-point assignments can really add up!

Ask for Extra Credit
Know the class policies and if extra credit assignments are available, do them!

Even if the teacher didn't announce extra credit policy, many teachers allow extra credit assignments if the student is on the borderline for a higher grade.
Check Records

Most schools have all scores and grades online.  Students and/or parents should frequently check the records for any entry errors, missed homeworks, etc.  Do this frequently -- dont wait till the end of the semester!

Get Help!

If you have difficulty with any topic, ask for help from teachers, parents, or friends; or consider tutoring services such as Aim Academics.

Do this early, especially for subjects like Math which become more and more difficult if you miss understanding the earlier concepts.
