Mr. Darcy
Proud of his position. He is wealthy, and has his head up high.

Darcy addresses his flaw of pride, but also justifies himself.
Conversation
Dialogue between the girls sounds very similar to that of today's teenage girls.
Mrs. Bennet
Very proud of her daughters; however, she tries not to brag too much. For example, she was talking to Mrs. Lucas about Jane and although was fishing for compliments, tried to keep on the down low as well.
Elizabeth Bennet
Strongly prejudiced; has opinions on everything! For example, she believes in love first and marriage second. Love shouldn't come after.
Love/Relationships
Elizabeth and Charlotte's conversation still relates to today. They bring up two major points
Title
If you show you love him he might feel too proud to show it back.
Title
If you don't show it and he loves you then it might not go anywhere.
Lots of Socialization
People's lives were centered around rumors, gossip, and people. The women especially had nothing better to do than get together with friends and have some tea.
Miss Bingley
Prejudiced against women and people of lower rank and fortune.
Argument between Darcy and Bingley
This argument showed how easily their opinions could be shifted. It also showed the personalities of the characters. Elizabeth, even though disagreeing with Darcy, showed firmness and independence. Bingley tried to ease the tension through humor.
Pride vs Vanity
Keeps reoccurring; Pride is when you think highly of yourself, vanity is when you desire others to think highly of you
Elizabeth and Mr. Wickham
Elizabeth too easily believes everything Mr. Wickham says. When everyone else tells her that he is not a genuine man, she doesn't agree and sticks to her belief that he is great.
