Functions
  • Pupil 
    - Smaller when it is brighter out (dilates)
  • Lens
    - Accommodation: changing shape of lens to see near or far
    - used to bring things into focus
  • Retina 
    - Has millions and millions of neurons
    - To capture light (electromagnetic energy)
    - Neurons convert electromagnetic signals to electric signals
  • Optic Nerve 
    - Electrical signals are sent to the brain
  • Fovea 
    - contains only cones
  • Periphery 
    - MOSTLY rods
